Archie Bryant

Archie Bryant, 89, of Little Rock passed away Friday, July 27, 2012. He was born on April 1, 1923 to Elizabeth Embree and Will Bryant in Cornerstone, AR. He was preceded in death by his son William (Billy) Bryant, his parents, brothers, Walter Will Bryant, and Cleatis Bryant; sister, Nora McPherson and son-in-law, Tony Doshier.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lurene Bryant, of Little Rock; daughters, Nancy Doshier of Bee Branch and Melinda (Eddie) Martin of Little Rock; six grandchildren, Brianne Bryant, David Hocut (Ashley), Susan Hocut, Sarah Bryant, Marlee Martin, Trip Martin; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Ethel Mullikin, of Pine Bluff, Norma Tomlin, of Altheimer, Mary Kaye Stephens, of Dover, PA and many special nieces and nephews.

He retired from the Little Rock School District where he worked for 35 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. A special thank you to Arkansas Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Archie and his family especially Chaplain Pat Singer. The family would also like to thank all of our friends at Pleasant Hills.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park, in Alexander with Rev. Pat Greer officiating. Visitation will be Monday, July 30 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct (NW Corner of I-630 and Barrow Rd).

Memorials may be made to Helping Hands (Alzheimers Respite Care) at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, 4823 Woodlawn, Little Rock, AR, 72205, Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Cir, North Little Rock, AR 72116, or a charity of your choice.
